In 2007, Carolyn joined Stephen Thomas on a part-time basis to develop the human resources function and has since also taken on the role of Chief Training Officer where her focus is on evolving the learning culture within the company.

In addition to her HR role at ST, Carolyn has maintained a consulting practice, founded in 1987, as a human resources specialist, facilitator and coach. From 2000 to 2005, she was the vice president of human resources, part-time, with Kids Help Phone. Prior to 1987, she held managerial roles at Petro-Canada in human resources as well as national marketing and consumer affairs. Earlier in her career at Dawson College in Montreal, she worked as a psychological and vocational counsellor and an adult education instructor.

She is a member of the Ontario Human Resources Association as a Certified Canadian Human Resources Professional (CHRP).

Carolyn has an M.Ed. from McGill University and an MA from the Université de Montréal.
